September. School is starting, and here in St. Louis, we’ve had a few moments and days that foretell of fall weather. Soon, I’ll be leading fourth and fifth graders around the St. Louis Art Museum, showing them how fun and interesting art can be.

I hunted mushrooms for the first time this weekend! I was in my folks’ woods, getting to know it again, and stumbled upon some mushrooms. A cluster of a couple dozen small, brown caps on stems—not too far off from skinny versions of the white mushrooms you buy at the grocery store. I’ve been interested in foraging for a few years now. Through following folks doing general foraging, hunting mushrooms—safely—started to feel more possible.
